Description: The SM-346 is a universal vertical launching system (VLS) intended for underwater ships and developed for the Russian Navy Project 885 Yasen class submarines. A single SM-346 VLS can be fitted with five Kalibr or four Yakhont/Onyx missiles. Besides, this missile launcher might accommodate a submarine launched variant of the Kh-101 long-range cruise missile. The SM-346 launching system entered service with the Russian Navy Severodvinsk, lead ship of the Yasen class, in the summer of 2014. Each Yasen class submarine is equipped with eight SM-346 launchers.
