Description: The Shipon-UT is a portable, lightweight, shoulder-launched infantry weapon designed to take out armored targets, fortifications, wall-protected targets and infantrymen. This weapon system can be fired from enclosures in urban warfare scenarios having a high hit probability. IMI developed two dual-purpose rounds with a different tandem warhead. AT/AF (Anti-Tank/Anti-Fortification) warhead can penetrate 800mm of reinforced steel against armored targets protected by Explosive Reactive Armor (ERA) or 500mm of reinforced concrete. In anti-fortification mode, AF/AP (Anti-Fortification/Anti-Personnel) front warhead penetrates the reinforced concrete and the main charge explodes inside structure. In anti-personnel mode, AF/AP front and rear warheads separate at optimal height and explode above dispersed infantrymen. The Shipon-UT weapon system is intended for use by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) dismounted infantrymen.
