Description: The Skylark is a family of lightweight, man-portable small UAV (Unmanned Air Vehicle) designed to carry out very close range surveillance and reconnaissance missions in support of military and paramilitary forces. Besides, Skylark is suitable for perimeter security, border and coastal surveillance, anti-terrorism surveillance and law enforcement. Elbit Systems has developed this lightweight mini-UAV to meet the requirements of the Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMoD).
The Skylark II is an enlarged version of Skylark I mini-UAV featuring a greater payload (10 kg) and flight performance. Skylark II has a flight endurance of six hours and a ceiling of 15,000-ft while providing TV and Infrared imagery and video in real-time as well as GPS positioning. The whole Skylark II system can be mounted on a single ground vehicle which also acts as the launch and recovery platform. The new system supports operations on-the-move and is provided with autonomous flight modes. The air vehicle is powered by a single two-blade nose-mounted propeller with electric drive.
