Description: The Skyranger is an air defense system suitable for mobile forces and stationary assets that builds upon Oerlikon Contraves' Millenium 35mm gun. The lightweight unmanned gun turret has been designed to be integrated with a wide range of wheeled and tracked chassis. Employing 35mm Ahead ammunition the Skyranger turns into a Counter Rocket, Artillery and Mortar (C-RAM) weapon system. In addition to airborne threats, the Skyranger can engage targets on the ground. A dual feed mechanism ensures that two types of ammunition are ready to fire at all times. The Skyranger's roof-mounted electro-optical sensor provides passive target the tracking capability.

The whole Skyranger air defense system being developed by Rheinmetall Defense includes the Skyranger gun, the Skyranger guided missile launcher (ASRAD) as well as the Skyranger radar and command system.
