Description: The Spy Ranger is a mini-Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) system developed by Thales and intended to provide reconnaissance capabilities in support of ground forces. Each Spy Ranger system includes three mini air vehicles one ground segment and associated support equipment all fitting into a single backpack. A single air vehicle can stay airborne for 2 and a half hours covering up to 30 kilometers delivering real-time high definition imagery. The French Armed Forces ordered 70 Spy Ranger systems (210 air vehicles) in early January 2017 with the first system to be delivered in 2018.
