Description: The Takhion is a mini-Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) developed to conduct reconnaissance missions in support for ground forces at ranges of up to 40 kilometers. Externally the Takhion responds to a flying wing design with a nose-mounted two-blade propeller and is operated by a crew of two-man. This new drone is the most advanced system developed by Russia so far and can conduct reconnaissance missions day/night even in bad weather conditions with wind speed of 15 meters per second (54 kph). Besides, it can be used as a communications relay aircraft flying at 4,000 meters of altitude operating at temperatures between -30- to +40-degree Celsius. The Takhion mini-UAV entered service in March 2015 with the intelligence units of the Russian Central Military District in Siberia.
