Description: The San Giorgio-class ships have been designed to transport an amphibious assault force with all the equipment required such as APCs, supplies, etc, while providing a large flight deck allowing up to 4 helicopters operations at the same time.

The San Giorgio-class small amphibious assault ship owned by the Italian Navy can accommodate up to 400 fully equipped soldiers, 30 armored vehicles, and 5 Ch-47 Chinook or SH-3 Sea King helicopters. In addition, an Oto Melara 76mm cannon and two 20mm and 12.7mm machine guns provide self-defense capability.
