Description: The C-295 is a tactical military transport aircraft developed on the basis of the proven EADS CASA CN-235 aircraft. It features stretched fuselage, and a new powerplant (2xPW127G turboprop) providing extended range and payload over current CN-235 tactical aircraft. It can accomplish tactical and logistics support transport, airdrop, medical evacuation, maritime patrol and humanitarian missions.
The AC-295 is a gunship version of the C-295 transport aircraft being developed by King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) of Jordan, ATK and Airbus Defence and Space. The AC-295 will be based upon the AC-235 light gunship operated by Jordan. The AC-295 will include integrated mission and fire control systems, electro-optical and radar sensors, Hellfire missiles, ATK's side-mounted M230 30mm chain gun, an integrated defensive suite and 2.75 inch/70mm guided rockets such as APKWS. The Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) signed a contract for the conversion of an existing C-295 transport aircraft into the AC-295 gunship on June 17, 2014.
