Description: The Air Tractor AT-802U is a twin-seat version indented to provide a 10-hour Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) capability while carrying a 8,000-lb of payload including sensors, bombs, missiles, rockets and machine guns. The aircraft can load a variety of EO/IR (Electro-Optical/Infrared), SIGINT (Signals Intelligence) or SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) payload. An optional retractable L3 Wescam MX-15Di sensor targeting pod and ROVER video downlink lets ground commanders, other aircraft and forward air controllers see the battle space in real time. The AT-802U carried out successfully its maiden flight in 2009 and has been optimized for operations from unprepared and unpaved runways.

The AT-802U features 11 hard points on the wings and fuselage that can accept two GAU-19/A 12.7mm machine guns, 8 Hellfire missiles, 500-lb and/or 250-lb laser guided bombs, 16 DAGR rockets and up to six mini Talon weapons. For enhanced combat survivability the cockpit and engine have been placed inside an armored box. Fuel tanks and lines are self-sealing. Ballistic glass windshields and side windows have defeated bullets during counterdrug operations. The AT-802U airplane is powered by a single Pratt & Whitney PT6A-67F turboprop engine developing 1,600-hp of power.
