Description: The Chinese FC-31 Gyrfalcon, formerly J-31 or F-60 export name, is a lightweight, twin-engine, stealth fighter aircraft developed by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation (SAC) and intended to serve with the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force and Navy. Externally the new aircraft has the same configuration as the F-22 Raptor but its operational role is more close to the F-35 single-engine fighter aircraft. Nevertheless, it seems unlikely that the Chinese military will produce a Short Take-Off and Vertical Landing (STOVL) of the FC-31 aircraft. The aircraft is provided with eight external and two internal weapons bays at both sides of the center of the main fuselage. The first photos of the aircraft were leaked in September 2012 and stating that the prototype had already conduct its maiden flight successfully. The FC-31 fighter aircraft might enter service by 2020 or beyond with the Chinese Navy.
