Description: The Saegheh, Thunderbolt in English, is an upgraded version of the Azarakhsh fighter aircraft featuring shoulder-mounted air intakes and enhanced maneuverability. This new fighter aircraft program seems to be intended to match the maneuverability and performance of the F/A-18 Hornet. The improved aircraft is designed for air-to-air and air-to-surface missions. The Saegheh jet first flew in 2004 and joined Iran's Air Force on September 22, 2007. The aircraft's performance and specifications remain uncertain.
