Description: The Aviso Type A69 class corvettes are intended for offshore anti-ship and anti-submarine warfare missions in shallow waters with less than 100 meters depth. Additional tasks such surveillance of Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) or maritime patrol, can be accomplished by these ships thanks to its outstanding surface weaponry.

Aviso Type A69 corvettes are equipped with 2 MM38 or 4 MM40 Exocet anti-ship missiles, one 100mm naval gun, torpedoes, one anti-submarine launch rocket, two 20mm and up to four 12.7mm machine guns.

In 2000, Turkey achieved an agreement with France to purchase 6 up-to-date ex-French Navy Avisos Type A69 corvettes. Two Avisos were decommissioned and the remaining 9 currently owned by the French Navy ships will be decommissioned sooner than later.
