Description: The Fearless class of corvettes has been designed to perform anti-surface (ASuW) and anti-submarine warfare (ASW) missions. The propulsion system consists of two MTU 12V 595TE90 diesel engines and two Kamewa waterjets which provide a cruise speed in excess of 20 knots. ST Engineering Marine delivered 12 boats between 1996 and 1998 to the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) of which the first six are equipped as ASW vessels and the other six as ASuW missile boats.

In addition to the propulsion system, the common equipment provided to Fearless-class corvettes includes one OTO Melara 76mm dual-purpose gun and Mistral/Sadral surface-to-air missile system. The ASW version is equipped with two triple 12.75-in torpedo tubes. The Six ASuW corvettes commissioned in 1998 replace the torpedo tube mounts with four to six Gabriel anti-ship missiles and four 12.7mm machine guns.
