A 21-cell RAM provides protection against airborne threats. Besides, the Gepard-class corvettes are suitable for mine laying missions. The propulsion system consists of four diesels and four shafts generating 13,200-KW and allowing a top speed of 40 knots. These ships are scheduled for replacement by the K130-class corvettes.
