Description:
The Project 12421 and Project 12418 missile boats are intended to engage the full spectrum of surface ships ranging from corvettes to aircraft carriers in the open sea including transport ships and landing crafts. The missile boat has a secondary surface-to-air capability using Igal-1M short range missiles and AK-630 guns. The boat is powered by a gas turbine power plant and features air conditioning to operate in all climate conditions.
The Molniya radar system can track up to 15 potential targets engaging six targets simultaneously in intense countermeasures environments, that figure scales down to five targets in surface mode. The fire control system is suitable for both air and sea targets. For enhanced survivability the ship is fitted with active radar jammers and IFF radar.
The weaponry relative to the Molniya missile boat weapon system includes supersonic four 2x2 anti-ship missiles 3M80/Moskit (Project 12421) or 16 4x4 3M24/Uran subsonic anti-ship cruise missiles (Project 12418), 12 Igla-1M surface-to-air missiles, a 76mm AK-176M single-barrel naval gun and two six-barrel 30mm AK-630M guns.
