Description: The 5V28 is a long range, medium to high altitude surface-to-air missile (SAM) utilized on the S-200/SA-5 Gammon air defense system. The 5V28 has a minimum range of 60 kilometers due to four solid-fuel strap-on rocket boosters and a maximum range of 300-350 km flying at Mach 4. It was designed to intercept bombers and strike aircraft flying at up to 30,000 meters of altitude. The Soviet Union developed and introduced the S-200/5V28 missile system in the 1960s and was sold to several countries worldwide.
