Description: The Javelin subsonic, anti-tank, anti-bunker missile automatically guides itself to the target after launch using its IR seeker. It uses an arched top-attack profile to strike where the armor is weakest. It can be safely fired from inside buildings or bunkers making it suitable for urban area warfare.

The Javelin missile is capable of defeating all-known main battle tanks thanks to its tandem shaped charge warhead and its top-attack profile. The missile travels at more than 100-foot (30 meters) altitude before coming down to strike its intended target.

The Javelin Block 1 missile is an enhanced variant of Javelin. It features an improved rocket motor that will reduce the missile's time of flight; improvements to the command launch unit (CLU); software enhancements and an enhanced performance warhead that increases Javelin's lethality against a wider range of target sets. The Block 1 production started in the fourth quarter of 2006 and entered qualification test firings in early 2007.
