Description: The Krasnopol is a 152mm artillery projectile designed to engage armored targets using a semi-active laser guidance system in the terminal phase of its trajectory. Fortifications, ships and enemy artillery sites can be engaged accurately and effectively by the Krasnopol projectile. The Krasnopol 152mm artillery projectile is employed by soviet-made artillery systems such as the MSTA-S, D-20, and 2S3M.

Once fired, the Krasnopol projectile follows a ballistic trajectory approaching to the target. Then the forward observer aims a laser designator illuminating the target at a maximum range of 7,000 meters. Then the Krasnopol seeker locks on the target and the navigation system corrects its trajectory in order to impact on the selected/illuminated point. The Krasnopol projectile follows a top attack pattern to achieve an optimized probability of kill against the armored target.
