Description: The Pradyumna is a two-stage, exo-atmospheric interceptor being developed by the Indian Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) on behalf of the Indian government. It was tested successfully at 48 km of altitude on November 27, 2006 and at 80 km of altitude on March 6, 2009. Pradyumna along with AAD missile, Long Range Tracking Radar, Multi-function Fire Control Radar, Mission Control Centre, Launch Control Centre, Mobile Launcher, Mobile and Multi Layer Communication System may form the basis of a future Indian-made ballistic missile defense (BMD) capability. The Indian BMD could be operational by 2013.
