Description: The US Army XM1115 Cannon-Delivered Area Effects Munitions (C-DAEM) is a new 155mm projectile being developed for firing in areas where the GPS has been jammed. The state-of-the-art guidance system allows hitting targets with an accuracy of roughly two meters. The rocket assisted projectile (RAP) has a maximum range of 70 kilometers and will eventually replace the Dual Purpose Improved Conventional Munition (DPICM) cluster munition. The new 155mm round may feature some sort of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. The US Army intends to use the new projectile from M777, M109A6/A7 and the future XM1299 howitzers beginning in 2020.
