Description: The US Army XM113 is a 155mm artillery projectile intended to provide longer ranges than conventional projectiles fitted with insensitive ammunition high explosive and a supplementary charge. The new projectile will achieve a maximum range of 40 kilometer fired from M777A2 howitzers. Besides, the new projectile will be compatible with all the guidance kits used on existing 155mm rounds. The US Army and Marine Corps are expected to field the XM113 projectile in 2020-2021.
