Description: The D-30 is a family of turbofan engines developed and manufactured in the former Soviet Unit to power a wide range of jet aircraft ranging from fighters to tactical transport jets. There is a power generator application known as D-30STU based on the D-30 gas turbine. The engine family develops between 25,000 to 35,000 pounds of thrust. As of 2005, D-30 engines are being manufactured and marketed by Russian corporations NPO Saturn and Aviadvigatel.

The D-30F6 two-shaft engine provides 15,500 kg of thrust with afterburning and was selected to power the high-speed supersonic Mig-31 Foxhound air defense interceptor. The D-30F6 engine enables Mig-31 to fly at high altitudes and airspeeds of Mach 2.8 while performing air defense patrols. The engine design consists of 7 line replaceable modules. Sukhoi's S-37 Berkut Forward Swept Wing aircraft demonstrator was powered by two D-30F6 engines as well.
