Description: The F100 engine was developed to power the twin-engine F-15 Eagle air defense fighter. Subsequently it was adopted by the F-16 Fighting Falcon multipurpose fighter.

The F100-PW-229 engine is an increased thrust derivative from the F100-PW-220. It was supplied to late production F-16C/D and F-15E Strike Eagle fighters. The -229 engine can be installed in previous F-16 models.
