Description: The F100 engine was developed to power the twin-engine F-15 Eagle air defense fighter. Subsequently it was adopted by the F-16 Fighting Falcon multipurpose fighter.

The F100-PW-229 engine is an increased thrust derivative from the F100-PW-220. It was supplied to late production F-16C/D and F-15E Strike Eagle fighters. The -229 engine can be installed in previous F-16 models.

F100-PW-229 - Contracts, Orders & Sales
June 2008 Morocco Foreign Military Sales (FMS) for 24 Advanced F-16C/D Block 52 aircraft from Lockheed Martin powered by Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-229 engines. Deliveries are planned in 2010 and 2011. The engine contract was valued at $170 million. The overall program cost was estimated at $2.4 billion. The initial production contract was awarded in June 2008.

December 2006 Pakistan Peace Drive I program aimed at the purchase of 18 F-16C/D Block 52 aircraft powered by F100-PW-229 engines. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in December 2009 and complete in 2010. Lockheed Martin was awarded the first contract in support of this Foreign Military in December 2006.
