Description: The F404-GE-102 engine is a derivative of the F404-GE-402 with special features related to safety. General Electric and KAI are developing this engine to meet the requirements of South Korea's advanced Trainer/Light Attack T-50 Golden Eagle aircraft.

Current F404-powered aircraft are twin-engine, excepting A-4S, so safety is an important milestone of -102 engine. The -102 engine must also meet the requirement of supersonic flight. First production -102 engines will be delivered in 2005.
