Description: The M53 is a combat proven engine designed to power the entire Mirage 2000 multi-role fighter family. It features high reliability, controllability with full authority digital control, and a modular design which provides easy maintainability. The M53 engine entered service in 1983.

More than 617 M53 engines have been delivered worldwide logging over 930,000 flight hours. The M53-P2 entered service in 1985 and has been chosen by eight air forces in four continents. Snecma is developing the M53-PX3 engine with improved reliability, full authority digital control, lower operation costs, and more thrust. The M53 engines will be in service well beyond 2025.
