JAS 39C Gripen

Description: The RM12 engine is a derivative of the proven General Electric F404 engine used on the F/A-18 aircraft family to power the single engine JAS 39 multi-role fighter and all variants (B/C/D models). Thus, the engine features and performance are very similar to those of the F404 engines. RM12 modifications focus on optimized performance and reliability for single-engine aircraft operations.

The RM12 is produced jointly between General Electric Aircraft Engines and Volvo Aero Corporation from Sweden. SAAB JAS-39 Gripen multi-role fighters ordered by Sweden and international customers are powered by one RM12 jet engine.
