Description: The Russian Navy Husky class is a fifth generation nuclear-powered submarine intended to perform a wide range of combat missions engaging target at sea and land. This new Project boat may be equipped with both conventional and nuclear weapons joining the features of both ballistic and attack submarines. The Husky may leverage some developments from the Alpha/Lira class of nuclear attack submarines. The Russian Navy expects to complete the Husky design by 2018 and the first boat may be commissioned by 2025.
