Description: The Jing Chiang or Kuang Hua III class missile boat has been designed to carry out strikes against enemy surface ships utilizing four Hsuing Feng I anti-ship missiles. Besides, the Jing Chang missile boats can be used for mine laying. Taiwan may use these boats to prevent landing of Chinese Navy of ships and crafts on Taiwanese shores during a potential invasion of the island. Their propulsion system features two diesel engines developing 20,128-bhp and a top speed of 25 knots. The weapon system includes four Hsuing Feng I anti-ship missiles, one 40mm anti-aircraft gun, one 20mm gun and two mine racks. The Navy of Taiwan commissioned 12 Jing Chiang missile boats between 1994 and 2000.
