Description: The Republic of Korea Navy (RoKN) KDX-IIA is a further evolution of the KDX-II class destroyer equipped with the Aegis weapon system. This new surface combatant may feature stealth technology, integrated sonar system and more data-link capabilities to operate in a network centric warfare environment. All in, the new Korean class destroyers may perform better in the littoral and blue water environments. In 2011, the RoKN took the decision to build six KDX-IIA destroyers to be commissioned between 2019 and 2026.
