Description: The Russian Navy's Aircraft Carrier Killer (Husky project) and Underwater Interceptor refer to a fifth generation nuclear attack submarine being developed to engage surface targets and underwater targets respectively. The Aircraft Carrier Killer will be equipped with cruise missiles to engage coastal targets and surface ships, specially US Navy's aircraft carriers. The Underwater Interceptor will protect the Russian Navy's ballistic submarines fighting against enemy attack boats. These new class of submarines are being designed by the Malakhit Design Bureau and will share a common design but different armaments. Besides, these nuclear submarines will be quieter and fast-maneuvering than previous boats. Sevmash will take responsibility for the construction of these new boats. The Russian Navy expects to commission the first boat by 2025.
