Description: The Indian Navy's Vishal, formerly Indigenous Aircraft Carrier-2 (IAC-2), program is aimed at developing a 65,000-ton, 300-meter long aircraft carrier by the year 2025. The ship will be build with technical assistance from foreign contractors. The IAC.2 aircraft will be capable of a top speed of 30 knots carrying 30-35 fixed-wing aircraft and 20 helicopters. As of July 2015, Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, DCNS and Rosoboronexport are bidding to provide assistance in the construction of the new ship.
