Description: The Airbus A300 is a twin-engine, wide-body, two-aisle, short- to medium-range airliner capable of carrying from 220 to 360 passengers. It can be powered by either General Electric CF6 or Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engines. The latest model, Airbus A300-600, has a 266-seat capacity in a two-class configuration and a range of 7,700 kilometers (4,000 nautical miles).

The Airbus A300-600ST (Super Transporter), also known as Airbus Beluga, is an oversized freighter available for both civil and military requirements. The Beluga entered service in 1996 within the Airbus automated and integrated assembly process. It ferries Airbus' aircraft sections all over Europe between Airbus facilities in France, Germany, UK, Spain and Italy.

Currently, the Beluga is performing more than 40 ferry flights a week. Its main cargo deck is greater than C-5 Galaxy, An-124 and C-17. The airplane is powered by two General Electric CF6-80C2 engines.

In March 2006 Airbus announced that the company was ceasing A300 and A310 production by 2007 following growing demand from operators for the newest Airbus models such as A321, A330, A340 and A350. The last A300/A310 airplane on order, an A300-600, was expected to be handed over in July 2007.
