Also Known As
Seatrack 7000

Origin
Germany

Contractor/s
EADS

Description: CSS 7000 is a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) territorial protection solution developed by EADS Germany to conduct detection of sea and air targets. It is based on the Seatrack 7000 surveillance radar system. Controlled remotely it is used primarily for coastal surveillance but can provide alternatively or simultaneously air detection capability. Key features are its high reliability, low life cycle cost, and ease of maintenance making CSS 7000 highly suitable for unattended operations.

The government of Estonia ordered a CSS 7000 based Coastal Surveillance Radar (CSR) System from EADS in 2002. The system was fully operational by March 2006 with the Estonian border guard.
