Description:
The ADS GmbH Active Armor Concept (AAC) is a soft kill advanced countermeasure defense system designed to provide protection for armored vehicles against Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPGs). The AAC consists of sensor and countermeasure packages that is controlled in a distributed network that responds very fast enabling defeat close to the protected vehicle and reduces collateral damage. The countermeasures are directed without mechanical delays enabling defeat of multi-hits at the same spot. As of 2008, BAE Systems and ADS GmbH are integrating and testing the AAC on the SEP 8x8 armored vehicle.
