Description: The Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) Electronic Warfare (CREW) is a mounted and dismounted electronic jamming systems intended to prevent the initiation of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). In January 2008, the US Navy awarded a $16 million contract to Northrop Grumman for design, development and delivery of seven dismounted and seven mounted CREW systems. The jamming system is based on Northrop Grumman software-defined radio technology.
