Description:
The Mongoose is an advanced countermine/minefield breaching system designed for the US Army Stryker-equipped brigades. It is based on an innovative and highly effective shaped charge approach to minefield neutralization. A rocket deploys an array of shaped charges that are launched across the minefield detonating existing land mines while creating a cleared path for vehicles and personnel.
The Mongoose minefield breaching system will achieve initial operational capability in 2006 deployed with Stryker brigades.
