Description: Due to AGT1500 gas turbine low reliability and expensive maintainability, The US Army requested a new gas turbine to re-engine Abrams-tanks and to power Crusader self-propelled howitzer. General Electric and Honeywell developing the LV100 gas turbine to meet the US Army's requirements.

LV100 engine will provide ease of maintenance, reliable and durable component, 33% in fuel consumption, onboard electronic diagnostics and log book and a 43% reduction in low parts from AGT1500. LV100 engine is being developed under ACCE (Abrams Crusader Common Engine) program. Due to Crusader program cancellation the LV100 turbine could be also cancelled, so LV100 future remains uncertain.
