Description: The BK 27 cannon was developed by Mauser (Rheinmetall) to meet NATO requirements for use in the low-altitude attack Tornado aircraft. The BK 27 cannon has also been adapted by the Alpha Jet, the Gripen and recently by the Eurofighter-Typhoon.

The 27mm BK 27 cannon is also being considered for the JSF/F-35 aircraft. It is suitable for air-to-air and air-to-ground missions.
