Description: The Turbomeca Arriel 1 engine was designed very simple with reduced parts and only five modules for ease of maintenance while delivering excellent handling characteristics and high level of reliability. Arriel 1-series have been installed on a wide range of twin-engine commercial/military helicopters. So far, there are 28 versions of the engine family developing between 640 and 944 shaft-horse-power (shp). The Time Between Overhaul (TBO) for Arriel 1 engine family is 3,000 hours which can be extended in three of its five modules. Launched in 1977, Turbomeca has produced more than 6,000 Arriel 1 engines logging more than 19 million flight hours to date.

The Arriel 1S1 is the most powerful engine developed under Arriel 1-series to date. Arriel 1S1 is offered as a replacement engine for Sikorsky S-76A+ helicopters and is powering S-76A++ and S-76C helicopters.
