Description: The CT7-8E is a 3,000-hp class turboshaft engine derived form the proven CT7-8 engine. Its increased power has been achieved through an upgraded high-pressure turbine with new materials and a new advanced three-stage low-pressure turbine. CT7-8E includes a Full Authority Digital Electronic Control (FADEC) system.

The CT7-8E engine is intended to power AgustaWestland EH101, US101 , and NH Industries NH90 helicopters. The first engine, a set of three engines, was delivered by General Electric to Agusta Westland US101/EH101 on July 6, 2004. CT7-8E engine rated at 2,500 shaft-horsepower was selected to power US101 Marine One presidential helicopter in early 2005.
