Description: The Honeywell T55 is a family of reliable and durable turboshaft engines suitable for rotary-wing aircraft applications such as the Boeing CH-47 Chinook, MH-47 and Model 234 helicopters. The T55 engines provide power between 3,570 and 4,867 shaft horsepower. Since the T55 inception, Honeywell has delivered more than 4,200 engines to customers all over the world accumulating more than six million flight hours.

The T55-GA-714A is the current engine model provided to the US Army's aircraft while the 55-L-714A designation applies to engines being offered to international customers. T55 from -714A series offer 22 percent increased power and 7 percent fuel economy compared with is latest competitor in the T55 engine family. Honeywell is developing the 55-L-71X variant which would deliver more power than -714A models.
