Description: The T800 is a family of turboshaft engines developed jointly between Honeywell and Rolls Royce under the Light Helicopter Turbine Engine Company (LHTEC). These engines are rated between 1,300 - 1,800-shp featuring modular design and ease of maintenance. The T800 engine was developed to power high performance light/medium helicopters operating in the military range such as the US Army RAH-66 Comanche (now cancelled).

LHTEC T800-LHT-801 was a variant of T800-LHT-800 turbine engine provided with increased power and intended to power production RAH-66 Comanche helicopters from 2006. Ultimately, the RAH-66 Comanche was cancelled by the US Army in 2004.
