Description: The IMESS is an infantry fighting capabilities enhancement program being developed by EADS (prime contractor) and Sagem Defense Securite (main subcontractor) for the Swiss Army. The development contract was awarded by Swiss defense procurement agency, armasuisse, on November 26, 2007. The IMESS program scope covers from the single soldier to the platoon level. The IMESS contract worth 120 million Euro includes the prototype phase to be complete by September 2008, optional initial procurement in 2009 and optional series production in 2010 and 2014. Production phases are subject to the approval by the Swiss parliament.
