The inclusion criteria for deagel's guide to Main Battle Tanks is based on: heavyweight armored vehicles equipped with large-caliber guns such as M1 Abrams, Leopard 2 and T-90; and light armored vehicles equipped with large-caliber guns such as Stryker MGS and CV90120.

Main Battle Tanks (MBTs) provide direct fire support at assault operations taking out enemy MBTs and fortifications.
