Description: The Centauro is a highly mobile wheeled armored combat vehicle armed with a low-recoil 105mm 52 calibers main gun and two 7.62mm machine guns. The 105mm gun fires all 105mm NATO standard ammunition while stationary and on the move against both stationary and moving targets. The Centauro features hunter-killer capability against armored vehicles and MBTs using the commander's panoramic sight and gunner's sight.

The Centauro features a crew of 4-man and 4 infantryman can be carried internally in the rear compartment. It was deployed successfully for the first time during the humanitarian campaigns of Somalia and the former Yugoslavia.

The Italian Army ordered 400 Centauro armored reconnaissance vehicles and deliveries began in 1991. The Spanish Army has also purchased the Centauro to perform armored reconnaissance tasks while Brazil could be the next customer. The latest variants of Centauro feature add-on armor for improved protection and an infantry fighting version with a 25mm gun-turret known as Centauro 8x8 VBC.
