LAV-600

Origin:United States of America

Contractor/s: Textron Systems

Description: The Cadillac Gage Textron LAV-600 is a derivative of LAV-300 wheeled, amphibious armored vehicle aimed at delivering superior mobility and firepower than its predecessor. It is based on a 6x6 amphibious chassis. LAV-600 offers superior mobility compared to LAV-300, enhanced firepower with its 105mm gun and can be air-transported by C-5 Galaxy, C-141 Starlifter, C-17 Globemaster III and C-130 Hercules aircraft.

The vehicle's survivability comes from a combination of low silhouette and high-hardness steel armor which can withstand impacts of ammunition up to 7.62mm. Armor floor plate protects the crew from landmines and fragmentation hand grenades blasts. Besides, the vehicle can receive add-on armor plates for enhanced protection against ballistic impacts. Integration of low observable technologies is being offered by Textron to achieve further survivability through minimizing infrared, acoustic and seismic signatures.
