Description: The Thales Damocles XF is an improved multifunctional version of Damocles targeting pod incorporating a new data link and an enhanced identification system. The XF version will benefit from technological developments funded by the French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA). The pod will support long-range engagements using laser-guided munitions. Urban warfare support will be provided by the use of a new high-resolution infrared sensor and a new daylight camera for high precision engagements. The new data link is interoperable with allied forces and will make possible to exchange video with troops on the ground. The Damocles XF is expected to enter service by 2018 and it is targeted at both land-based and carrier-based fighter aircraft.
Parent system is the Damocles
