Description: The LITENING G4 represents the fourth generation of Northrop Grumman/Rafael LITENING navigation and targeting pod and is a further development based upon LITENING AT pod. Compared to its predecessors, LITENING G4 features an advanced high resolution 1024x1024 pixel Forward-Looking Infrared (FLIR) system and a new laser illumination technology which provides enhanced target capability and situational awareness. The new megapixel sensor provides increased detection range, improved target identification and image quality while the new color symbology provides a more viewer-friendly format that eases operator understanding of display information. The US military is expected to take delivery of LITENING G4 pod in 2008.
