Description: The Shkval is an aircraft-mounted targeting system designed to detect and identify mobile and stationary surface and airborne targets. The systems combines a laser rangefinder/designator, communications unit and a daylight TV sensor with automatic target tracking device. All in, the Shkval sighting system provides guidance for anti-tank missiles, air-to-surface guided munitions, laser- and television-guided bombs, and provides support for the delivery of rockets, conventional and retarded bombs.
The Shkval-M has been designed for integration into the Su-39 attack aircraft. The Shkval-V variant was designed as the primary sighting system for the Ka-50 attack helicopter.
