Description: The Target Acquisition and Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor (TADS/PNVS) enables the AH-64 Apache Helicopter to fly at low altitude in total darkness and adverse weather, see ground targets, and destroy them at standoff ranges.

The TADS/PNVS consists of two sub-systems housed in a rotating turret mounted on the nose of the Apache helicopter. The targeting sub-system, TADS, is directed by head movements of a crewmember. The system comprises a TV camera, Infrared (IR) sensor, high power telescope, laser spot tracker, and laser designator rangefinder for laser-guided weapons such as the Hellfire anti-tank missile.
